Pretty Boy Floyd

One of the best-known Depression-era crime stories ended outside East Liverpool and then moved directly into downtown.

The final chase

Charles “Pretty Boy” Floyd was killed near Sprucevale Road on October 22, 1934 after a regional manhunt.

The city connection

His body was brought into East Liverpool and publicly displayed at Sturgis Funeral Home, now the Sturgis House.
