RIVERFRONT • WHAT COMES NEXT

A new connection for the river city.

The East Liverpool Heritage Bike and Walking Trail project aims to link the riverfront, downtown and East End.

Project in development

From the wharf toward East End

Downtown East Liverpool’s published concept starts at the wharf, follows Broadway toward Kent State and considers routes onward to Old Pennsylvania Avenue and East End. Connections toward the marina and boat ramp remain part of that evolving concept. The ambition is to make walking and cycling part of how residents and visitors experience the city’s community assets.

Recreation, heritage and everyday travel

The project brings the City of East Liverpool, East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization, Friends of the Trail and community partners into the same conversation. A connected route could make it easier to combine downtown stops, river views and neighborhood destinations in one outing. It also belongs in the city’s revitalization story: a practical connection whose value depends on what is built and how it serves people.

Follow its progress

The partner’s page describes planning and route options, not a confirmed end-to-end trail ready for visitors. Check project updates before planning a continuous walk or bicycle ride, and follow posted access rules at each location. For an outing now, choose existing destinations in the Explore guide and arrange your own route between them.
