Beaver Creek Pioneer Village
Historic buildings, a working grist mill, covered bridge, canal-era lock and seasonal living-history events inside Beaver Creek State Park.

Meet the valley’s working past
Beaver Creek Pioneer Village brings the area’s earlier trades and community life into view through its historic buildings and demonstrations. The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park maintain the village and preserve Gaston’s Mill and canal heritage. Walking among the buildings gives a creek-side outing a different rhythm, inviting you to look at the work, tools and shared spaces behind daily life.
Visit when the buildings come alive
An organized program or demonstration can make this stop more rewarding than a walk around closed buildings. Check the Friends’ calendar and confirm which interiors or activities will be available on your date. Pair the village with a park walk or the Wildlife Education Center, leaving time to enjoy both the history and the setting rather than rushing from one attraction to the next.
Before you go
- Combine the village with a park walk to connect the landscape and its history.
- Check scheduled demonstrations and seasonal building access before visiting.
